Saturday's inspirational event was a tremendous blessing filed with God's presence, wonder and miraculous works. The artists, performers and speakers all blessed our hearts. The fashion show was wonderful and inspiring. Pastor Dr. Siretta Williams blessed or soul. And God showed up with signs and wonders. We thank God for His great move here for the family of Abundant Harvest Empowerment Christian Center.

As I sitting watching the inauguration, I can hardly avoid tears watching the president being sworn. “Our journey is not complete until…” “You and I as citizens have an obligation to set this nations course.” Unity is the theme …”together.”
Apostle Paul tells us one Fruit of the Spirit is longsuffering: bearing patiently with the foibles, faults, and infirmities of others. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Changes does not roll in on wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle." He further stated, "Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable...Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals," We must balance duty and call with commitments and desire. Strive to avoid declaring to be answering God’s call over previously established Godly commitments. We must look at multiple factors from God when pursuing His will and not just the open door. As we search out God’s will for our future there are 4 points to understanding this discipline, as referenced by M. Blane Smith in Knowing God’s Will:
1. The need is not the call. Because you know of a need, this should not be taken as an automatic invitation from God to meet it. Consider the sick man at the pool of Bethesda. He was not the only sick person there. When the angel stirred the water, there were many needs but only one healing. When Jesus came, we are told again of Him selecting only the one man who had missed the healing for many years. 2. By saying yes to an opportunity you can in effect be saying no to a commitment you’ve already made by depleting the time and energy you had for responding to the previous commitment. 3. St. Paul’s charge to “be fruitful in all good works,” means we should not take on more work than we can possibly be fruitful in. 4. Be wary, “open doors can sometimes lead to elevator shafts.” Make sure you look at all factors for God’s guidance not just to the open door, but thru the open door. Enter with Godly reasoning and Godly wisdom. Trish once again joyously sharing the Word of God with our listening audience.
The Bible tells us that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now, where was God when that notion came upon Him? That is a matter beyond the comprehension of man. Certainly, the heavens and the earth did not form themselves. The necessary matter and energy that makes up all things known to man had to be in place for the heavens and earth to form. Regardless of whether someone accepts or rejects the Biblical account of the beginning, we surely all agree (even those who do not openly admit it) that the matter and energy had an origin. Even if you believe that the matter and energy was put there by aliens, there is no denying that they would have had to have an origin. The clear fact is that in the beginning there was a supernatural event. I trust and believe it was an orchestrated event. An event planned, perceived, and implemented by a master planner, God.
The perspective of this day as has many angles as if being viewed as a ray of light through a prism. Throughout this lifetime I have celebrated Mother’s Day as a son with a living mother, then as a son with a mother deceased, then as the husband of a mother, as a father of a mother, and most recently as the brother of a mother. As a youth, next to Christmas, Mother’s Day was the most special holiday in our home. We would search all over to find that special gift for mom, to show her that we loved her and appreciated her love and sacrifices in raising us. She would often remind us that she did not have to birth us if she did not want to and she did not have to raise us if she did not want to, and we respected and appreciated her for what she did. With mom having died over 30 years ago we never had the experience of celebrating with our mom from the perspective of an adult child, but I am sure the love, respect and appreciation would have continued and even grown more and more. As we look back 2000 years ago as God chose to re-affirm his eternal relationship with mankind by taking on the flesh and blood of man in union with Mary to manifest himself in the form of His son Jesus the Christ, God through Jesus had a mother whom he also celebrated in a special way. In our chronological celebrations of Christ’s life after celebrating his birth (Christmas) we next celebrate his resurrection (Easter). However, just prior to Jesus’ death he initiated Mother’s Day with his gesture from the cross, “John, Love and Care for my mother” and “mom, transfer that loving need to nurture, support and protect me to my dear friend, John.” (John 19:26-27, paraphrased, of course). This was the only request of continued duty given by Christ from the cross. Christ showed that his special love regarding his mother did not end with natural death neither did his mom’s need and desire to love and nurture her son. Truly, this is symbolic of the eternal love between God (through Jesus Christ) and Humanity (through Mary, mother of Jesus). This is a loving physical, emotional and spiritual bond that’s seen from inception or adoption throughout eternity. WE LOVE YOU AND ARE PRAYING FOR YOU...remember

And the God of peace will be with you. He will wipe all tears and debt will be no more…
No more crying – no more owing – no more short comings, And no more closed doors. Heaven is the place that is waiting for those who believe on Jesus the Christ as Savior and Lord, Oh what joy and expectation. To live is Christ and to die is gain. For I live for Him and die to see Him. Don’t grow weary in well doing. For, soon and very soon we will see Him, and there will be joy unspeakable and full of glory. Encourage one another with the words of the gospel. What a joy! What a joy! What a joy! Halleluiah!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hebrews 11:6 tells us without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (NIV) As we put 2010 behind us with all of its challenges, and for many its disappointments, let us look ahead with faith and expectation to the great rewards that God has in store for us in 2011 as we move forward earnestly seeking Him. God is great and worthy of our worship and praise. May your 2011 be filled with great health, prosperous blessings and peace. HAPPY NEW YEAR! |
